Setting the tone through daily actions
In our Instagram recruitment post on 26 January 2026, we described a Team Leader who could lead by example, support colleagues and help create a stable home for young people. Those responsibilities say something useful about the kind of leadership that matters in residential care.
Leadership is present in the way adults speak to one another, respond to a difficult moment and follow through on what they have agreed. A thoughtful response can help colleagues work together and keep the young person’s needs at the centre of the day.
Supporting the people who provide care
A consistent approach depends on communication. Sharing observations, listening to colleagues and making time to reflect can help a team understand what is happening for a child, rather than focusing only on the behaviour they see.
At Polar, reflective supervision, stable leadership and therapeutic input from CCATS form part of the support described on our Careers page. Training and professional development sit alongside the learning that comes from everyday work.
An interest in working with Polar
